Notes: A little after the Wall quality time for the boys.

The Jets were losing. It shouldn’t have been possible. I’d read all the team news. Studied their strategy and gone over their play book when I’d slipped into the training facility while Peter was at work. That’d been fun. It was like the old days when I’d go hunting. I dressed in a security guard's ugly jacket, hung an ID badge around my neck, and no one thought a thing.

I could have shape shifted, but I try not to use that power anymore. I don’t like what it does to me physically or mentally. I like who I am now. Better yet Peter likes who I am, so no more wearing other people’s skin. Besides I’m a great actor. I always have been. I conned so many suckers over the years. My favorite will always be my little game with Bennet’s wife.

“What’s that smug look on your face for?” Peter asked, nudging me with his boney elbow as I slumped down in my seat. “Our team is losing.”

“I am aware of that.” I smirked, and then winced when the quarterback was sacked. “Son of a bitch! Come on!” I wasn’t the only one in the stands swearing and glaring as the opposition postured and congratulated themselves on the field. “I’m surprised you noticed my expression or how the game is going.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” He sat up, turning toward me. I swear he had to force his eyes away from the line of cheerleaders on the other side of the field. I could almost hear a rubber band snap as Peter focused on me instead of the procession of plastic princesses.

“The cheerleaders, Peter, you’ve spent three quarters of the game watching them.”

“So you’ve spent the entire game watching me supposedly watching them?” He scoffed. “I thought you wanted to come here? I mean we spent good money on these tickets.”

“Don’t you dare turn this into my problem. It’s not my fault they’re losing.”

“Besides they’re all the way over there. I can’t see any details. Hell I don’t even know how many girls are on the squad.” His hands were moving almost as fast as his mouth while he scrambled to cover getting caught.

“You’re not watching all the girls, just the six on the right hand side,” I pointed out, narrowing my eyes at him. “Which power are you holding? Did you take my distance vision?”

Peter slipped back down in his seat. “Yeah I did. I wanted it to watch the game. That’s what you’re doing, isn’t it? As for the cheerleaders I’m only looking not touching.”

I looked him in the eyes. “Same goes for me. I’m looking at you, and I’m not touching either.”

“Why are you being such a dick, Sylar?”

“Because I can be.” I could feel the heat coming off of him as his temper flared. Sure I was a little jealous, but I wasn’t serious. Christ I loved pissing him off.

*fumes in my seat* Yeah, we'll see how long you hold out with that 'no touching' thing.

You'd be amazed at how long I can keep it up.

*tries not to smile, snaking a sideways look at you*
I think I'm fairly familiar with how long you can keep it up.

I should hope so after all this time.

*heavy sigh, trying not to pout. I hate it when he does this*
I was just looking..

You know, every time I go to a football game at my university, I say, I should write a Petlar fic where they're watching football.

But you've beat me to it and I love it. Good job. :D

Thanks and you should do one. The more Petlar love the better.

I'm so glad the Jets aren't my team! My boys, the Raiders, did win Sunday.

Yeah I need to go get that power. It would be awesome.

I might. I don't know how to make that really in character, though. I mean, is it at all possible that Sylar/Gabriel would like football?

I mean, we can assume Peter does, what with him playing sports growing up, I guess.

I kind of like the idea that Martin watched football with Gabe before he took off. Sylar would like it for the violence.

*kisses your forehead*

I know. I trust you.

Date: 2010-12-08 08:08 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] lornrocks.livejournal.com
That's true.

I suppose you could say that being New Yorkers, they'd want to support their team, even if they're not that big a fan of sports, you know?

Better football than baseball in my book, but then I hate baseball. LOL

Date: 2010-12-08 08:16 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] lornrocks.livejournal.com
Right? I don't care if baseball is "America's pastime" or whatever. So. Boring.

I'd rather watch someone make out with Claire.

Date: 2010-12-08 08:28 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] lornrocks.livejournal.com
Even I have to admit that would be much more interesting.

Actually, anyone making out with anyone would be more interesting.

PAINT DRYING would be more interesting.

*Looks down, smiling. leans against you*
I should hope so, after all this time.
