OOC - Fanfic Meme - Day 22
22 – Have you ever participated in a fest or a Big Bang? If so, write about your favorite experience in relation to one. If not, are there any you've thought about doing? And if not, why not?
I think the biggest event I’ve participated in was the 100 Drabbles of Summer 2010. I completed 10K worth of drabbles before the end of July. I get on a roll with them, and I cannot stop. Sadly the mods for the comm didn’t give out a banner or even send out a congrats for completing it first. Yes, I’m bitchy about it. It’s the Leo ego that wanted some stroking, which is why I did not participate this year. It’s also why I always make sure that everyone who participates is an event on one of my comms gets something for it.
I’ve done a few fests, but I’ve never much liked them. I seem to get the worst prompts/pairings possible on the things. I had to drop out of Heroes Exchange because I couldn’t stomach the idea of writing Luke with anyone. I’ve wiped the character out of my mind, so I forgot that I want nothing to do with him. They wanted Luke/Nathan. *pukes*
I much prefer to ask people to request fics from me in small doses, and usually I get those done. Although the writers’ block was screwing that up until recently, but I’m back on track.

Yea-no. Just no.
Sylar/Luke ... well, at least they were on screen at the same time and I know it took me a long time to see Sylar/Peter (I start slow). Maybe Luke/Samson, if you wanted something dark and so illegal/squicky I wouldn't read it with someone else's eyes. But Luke/Nathan is like Luke/Sandra - just bizarre. Characters can't have chemistry when they never even meet each other!

Those bingo/prompt fest things scare me. I know there are certain prompts that would make me want to...well, DIAF. :)
Crazy you mention Luke. I was so horrifically creeped out by Dan Byrd's appearance in Heroes that I immediately hated Luke before his character was even really developed. There are a few facial shape/hygiene/posture/voice combos that instantly revolt me, and him as Luke was one of them. I literally felt sick to my stomach watching him at times. But I LOVE him in Cougar Town (Cougartown?).
