I've had a hell of a time keeping up with my weekly prompts from [livejournal.com profile] scifi_muses. I'm weeks behind for the first time in a long time, and I can't seem to find the motivation. The Peters are talking. Hell even Angela's awake and willing to fill in a prompt or two. But Sylar has gone quiet. I think after almost 4 years that I'm burned out.

I can still write Heroes, but I feel like I'm telling the same story over and over again for Sylar. I have over 170 Sylar fics in this journal. That is a hell of a loot of fanfic for one character. I think I reached this point with Caleb [livejournal.com profile] firsts_chosen_1 too by the time I was done with the [livejournal.com profile] joss100 table for him.

So I'll probably post a fic or two a month for Sylar from now on. Maybe just taking the weekly pressure off will be enough to get me going again. RP-wise he's doing great. He's having a ball in all of his 'verses even the ones that suck, but that's because RP isn't canon. I suppose I could write more fics based on RP, but I always feel weird doing that since not everyone reading them reads the RP.

Anyway.... I'm not quitting. I'm just not going to be posting as much fic from Sylar's POV. I'll try to crosspost my other Heroes fic here, but the easiest way to catch it all is to watch [livejournal.com profile] scifi_muses, [livejournal.com profile] italianeaglesct and [livejournal.com profile] tarnishedhero. I don't know if [livejournal.com profile] gabrielisgray is going quiet too, but he probably is.

That's a lot of Sylar ficcage there.

Respect.

About a month ago I thought I might hang it up on my longest running story, so I solicited feedback from some of my regular reviewers on what they wanted to see before I wrapped up. Strangely, I got all inspired by the impending "end" and have been going like a freight train since. I've even prioritized writing on that project over the collaboration I'm doing with Grey, which given how excited I am about that, is really saying something.

Which is me being supportive of you taking a break. Maybe it will jump start itself in a few weeks or a month, or maybe not, but pressuring yourself is sure not to work.

Good luck! I look forward to reading whatever you choose to share.

I think the break will help, and no one said I had to do every single week of [livejournal.com profile] scifi_muses. It's not a requirement of the comm, and I should know. I own it. LOL

I asked friends to pick prompts for me, for the weeks I've missed, and I can't get the words to come out. If the RP was dead too, I'd sob, but thank god it's not.

Well, it certainly seems as though you earned the break. Holy, 170 fics is a massive body of work. I'm sure whoever / whatever you write will be as awesome as ever, and continue to get even more fantastic. It must seem like losing a friend...but at least you still have RP. Silver lining...

Thanks for the heads up. *cyber fist pound*

Thanks Jaimie. I felt better once I wrote this down, when I realized what was going on. Hell, for all I know it'll spark something again just taking a break. *fist pound*

You are one of the best writers out there. 170 fics? I could never dream of doing that much; You certainly deserve a break ;)

Thanks *blushes*. I think I'll be back. Just need to get back behind the line of it being for fun not an obligation. :)
