UGH Fandom.

Ship =/=SEX. Ship = Relationship. There is no such thing as Preship unless the characters have never met. *head desk*

Just like there is no such thing as Preslash. Slash =/= Sex either. Slash just means a same sex pairing.

When you say Preslash or Preship it makes it sound like you mean Foreplay.

SEX = SEX
Sex = NSFW/Adult Content/Smut/Porn

Slash and Ship = Relationships

If you write something and the two characters aren't romantic, what's the harm in calling it a genfic or friendship fic? I suppose Alice/Bob is more appealing to people than: Alice, Bob, Friendship. [shrug]

Yeah, we're totally pre-slash, at least on LJ. In emails we're post-slash. Sometimes I feel little NSFW. Yeah, I totally ship our completely rational frustrations. BB, u no ilu so hard, there ain't no FAIL! about it!

It's not creepy at all that the character that looks like me and is named after me is getting molested by the super hot actor who is nothing like the character that I'm supposedly writing for. It's also perfectly cool for me to write a child version of myself, so he can be my super hot daddy too.
