While I'm working on Chapter Three, I thought I'd have fun and see what you think will happen.

Either Peter is aware that Sylar is harvesting powers, or he's not.

If he's aware, and he has said and done nothing about it, then he approves by his inaction and has no real moral barrier to taking the power itself. Yeah, he might complain and whine and kick about it, be all self-righteous and noisy, but it's just sound and fury. If he knew it was going on already and he wasn't stopping it, then it's not that big a deal.

If he's not aware, then he believes that Sylar has mastered the Hunger, which means the Hunger *can* be mastered, and Peter would not see any danger (other than logistical ones) to taking Sylar's ability. It might be a hard sell, but I think Sylar could bring him around. There's a lot of key arguments like enhancing Peter's ability to help others through having more powers, increasing his empathy and understanding of what Sylar goes through with this ability, and who knows, maybe boosting Peter's IQ.

So the thing is, either way, Peter should take the ability. The only time he wouldn't / shouldn't take it is if he found out Sylar had been taking abilities and then Peter flipped his lid. Since apparently Peter doesn't know and Sylar doesn't look to be going to tell him until he's hooked good and solid, then ... well.

Of course, Sylar could always let slip that he's been power-mongering and Peter could flip out before gaining Sylar's power, but that wouldn't make for nearly as cool a story. (ETA: Or maybe it would, now that I think of it. Lotsa angst potential either way and I'm sure it will be fascinating to read.)

(And sex is always awesome!)

I voted yes to Peter taking Sylar's ability, but I am also hoping you have a nice conflict planned for the actual corruption part. I hope it's not too terribly easy to corrupt Peter. I look forward to seeing a slow descent into darkness.

And yes, some sex would be nice, however, I do appreciate the wonderful sex-free writing you've done so far here. It emphasizes that this is a plot driven story, not smut. Either way, I look forward to the next part!
