I RP a lot of characters. I also RP quite a few different versions of a couple of them. Sylar is in several ‘verses, and I thought it’d be a good idea to not only list the verses but who he is in them. In some he’s found redemption. In others he’s crazy. In most of them he’s happy with who he has evolved into.

rp_shadesofgray was a development off of my Twitter RP. The game will be 3 years old at in July 2012. I’d been RPing him on Twitter for a few months, with various groups/partners, but his connection with Gabriel is the one that stuck. I keep most of the Twitter background that was established although his life since returning to LJ has been its own. I try not to cross the streams. I’d stopped RPing on LJ for a couple years, and it was good to be back.
Sylar on Shades is a happy camper. He was yanked out of his timeline by Angela who with the help of Parkman and Hiro grabbed Sylar after he met Samson to keep him from killing Nathan. Angela had Sylar programmed to be her weapon. He has been conditioned to avoid ever taking shapeshifting or telepathy. This act of Angela’s broke the time stream, and that’s why there is a nexus on Shades that draws alternate versions of Heroes (and other) characters.
He’s been through a bad relationship with a Claire from the future and a S1 Peter. That relationship didn’t last, and he began to realize that he was in love with Gabriel. The Brothers Gray have been in a committed relationship for over 2 years. While they were married on Twitter, they haven’t taken vows on Shades although I suspect that’ll happen soon.
Sylar and Gabriel both lost their powers through a plot by an evil Nathan (I am Become Death) version. He and Gabriel have taken control of the Company currently called Phoenix, and they are trying to regain the powers that they lost.

Men in Black: In this alternate of Season 3’s Villains, Peter flies back to the Company, and he is there when Sylar comes back to life after the fire. Peter convinces Angela and Noah to let him be an agent with Sylar as his partner. Agents S and P have become great friends, and they’ve been on a bunch of missions to bring in dangerous specials. Sylar hasn’t killed anyone not even in self-defense. He has a crush on Peter, but he hasn’t said a thing about it.

Dust in the Wind: I wrote a fic a few years ago in which Sylar wakes up in an underground laboratory after being in cryogenic sleep for a few hundred years. He wakes up because the machines that kept him asleep have broken down, and the outside world is a post-nuclear dystopia. He’s pissed off for being left there to rot. He hates everyone. He ran into Peter while hunting, and the two of them have had tremendous battles. Neither one of them likes the other – at all. Sylar’s more than a little feral and crazy after being locked up for so long. He’s killed a local warlord and taken over her territory much to Peter’s disgust. Sylar would rather swim in battery acid than have a single warm feeling for Peter.

Dark Side: The story picks up from Six Months Ago where instead of Chandra leading Gabriel along, Peter is his mentor. This Peter isn’t the nice guy we’re used to. He runs the Company. He’s cold. He’s amoral, and he’s willing to lie, cheat and train a killer to get what he wants which is power, lots of power.
In this verse I started out RPinggabriel_gray, but he’s since evolved into Sylar. This Sylar is an alternate personality of Gabriel’s. He’s been waiting in the shadows, doing the bad things that Gabriel couldn’t, and now he’s taken control of Gabriel’s body.
Sylar and Peter hate each other as much as they want to fuck each other.

Another Brick in the Wall: This is an RP that fills in the missing years behind the Wall. Sylar is pretty much completely canon. He loves Peter, and he’s told Peter that he likes boys more than girls. They haven’t crossed that line to become friends with benefits, because Sylar doesn’t believe that anyone would ever want him.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico: This one if primarily RP’d on Twitter. The story starts in Season One Parasite. Sylar and Peter fight, but instead of getting a chunk of glass in his head, Peter saves Mohinder and they fly away to safety. Sylar finds and kills Claire, leaving her body in Nathan’s campaign office. Peter later finds Sylar at Gray & Sons and gives him to Noah. While a prisoner at the Company Sylar convinces Peter to let him teach him how to control his abilities before he blows up New York.
Sylar and Peter bond over time, and Peter helps Sylar escape when he finds Elle torturing him. They go on a cross country adventure, and they’re now in Mexico where they’ve discovered how they feel about each other. Sylar hasn’t killed anyone except in self defense. He’s trying to be good for Peter.
Hiro and Mohinder are hunting for them.

Bloody Vengeance: This started out in a different verse where Selenedealing_death saved Sylar after Hiro stabbed him by turning him into a vampire. In this verse Sylar has been hiding away in the shadows of the New York ruins, waiting for his chance to have revenge on the Petrellis for blaming the bomb on him. He finally finds and captures Peter. He pretty much tortures and breaks Peter until he turns him as well, and then he convinces Peter to kill Nathan. They don’t like each other very much at all.

Chaos Inc: Sylar joins this very complicated nexus verse whenvampire_sylar found him floating the sewer of an alternate New York where people from different time lines have ended up. He and vSylar cause a huge amount of mayhem, and they thrive on the violence. They are lovers, and they are very devoted to each other. This is a continuation of a Twitter RP that had been going on for at least a year before we moved the game to LJ.

Twitter: Sylar had been split into two people, and those two halves have been combined. One of his lives was with @graylikeme, and in the other he is with @empath_peter and @vampire_peter. He tries not to kill in around the Peters, even though vPeter doesn't have a problem with it, but E does. Gabe doesn't have a problem with the killing, and by a miracle the two families don't hate each other or Sylar. The three of them get along, and right now life on Twitter is pretty rosy.
