OOC - Graphic Day

I redid my layout, and made one for little brother - graylikeme.
I like Gabriel's more than Sylar's, but I'm unwilling to spend a day building from scratch.
*snort* I wasn't going to tweak Sylar's at all, but I did anyway. Pushy damn muse.

I've been asked to do one more, but that'll be tomorrow. I've been anal retentive enough for one day.

OCD like me!

I used to do programming for AOL. I was already OCD about stuff, but as a result of keeping to their publishing standards I am insane about things that no one else would even notice. Which is why I don't do much, I don't want to make myself any more nuts than I am.

Love the new look, especially the quotes. Quotes rule!

Wow, what a small world! I worked for AOL Community, remote employee. Programming Manager for You've Got Pictures back when it existed. And yes, EVIL is the operative word there. Laid the whole division off. Never understood it, they had us working for cheap!

I do the ONE change thing all the time. Just one more thing turns into 20. Once I start I just can't stop! Stupid Virgo OCD. = (

That was our department. We made 1M a month, but the AOL morons in New York decided that letting the other cable company sell our area would be cost effective. So they laid us all off. The rival cable company here paid TWC 1M a month, but they didn't make that much. Now 5 years later they are rebuilding my department, and they have to start from scratch.

How typical. They are constantly shooting themselves in the foot. Soon after they laid us off they had positions open in Va. for 3x what I was getting paid and that doesn't take into account the cost of having an employee in the building. Area eventually went away, they never could do what I did with it. Not that I am so amazing, but I was there for 5 years! Who in the hell does their cost-effective analysis? LOL

It was good I would up using my degree and going into teaching, but working from home again would sure be nice now!

Holy crap. Wow, you got screwed much harder than I did, that must have left your ass sore for a while. = X

They actually did a decent job with severance and such with us, which was shocking really. I think partially because so many of us started as volunteers and we all know how that went for them with lawsuits.
