I don’t know what happened with Twitter RP, but it’s turned into the 24/7 Hump-o-Rama. I am so sick of watching characters bumping uglies. What happened to telling stories? I am not anti-smut. I enjoy RPing it on Twitter and on LJ, but it is not the reason I RP.

I RP to explore my characters and their environment. I want them to meet new people and encounter new challenges. Filling my timeline with constant fucking does neither of those things.

I suppose in a lot of ways that I’m very old fashioned. My characters do not fuck around. They have relationships. They do not cheat on their significant others. If there is a spark of chemistry with a new character, I will make a new version of my character to explore that. I don’t engage in multiple partners and verses on Twitter. It’s too hard for my readers to keep track of who I’m involved with. Breaking them apart makes it easier for them and for me.

On LJ that’s not as hard because the comms and groups are clearly delineated. In Group 2 Sylar is with Peter. In Group 1 Sylar is with Gabriel. In Group 3 Gabriel is with Elle. It works for me.

I think there’s also a part of that identifies with Sylar’s need to be special. How special is it to watch Character A who is supposed to be in love with Character B fucking every other version of Character B they encounter on Twitter? I just don’t like it.

But that’s my own personal deal. I don’t expect anyone else to jump on my bandwagon with me.

I used to turn twitter off after 7PM because it was just sex, sex, sex. Now, it doesn't matter if it's fucking lunch time, someone's fucking. Wait....does that make it literally 'fucking lunch time'?

It's fucking sad, frankly. If you've seen one couple fuck, you've seen them all. Every fucking time doesn't need to be played out; the fucking can be implied and assumed when a couple is to the point that they would be fucking on a regular fucking basis. I mean fuck!

As far as infidelity simply to stir up drama; it takes a very weak person and therefore a very weak character to allow a lover/mate to fuck around without consequence. 90% are RPing superheroes, FFS. As if that type of personality would just back down and take that shit with an 'It's OK, baby. I forgive you.' Fuck no, there would be broken noses and blood, bitch!


Far as the multiple versing goes; I don't RP from anyone but myself and my verse mates and thankfully they can keep their shit straight. I hope....

I'm just sick of it. You hit the nail on the head too. I know that Gabe/Sylar fuck all the time. Hell they fuck when neither of the muns are watching/writing/RPing. That doesn't mean I want to RP it out EVERY TIME. Once in awhile for a special event is great.

I hate how the cheaters use the "It's another 'verse" excuse. Well guess what, asshole. No it's not. You're cheating, and you should make another account if you want to say you're a different person.

Baby the "Superheroes" I've been watching are too busy getting groiny to save anyone anyway. I mean how fast can Peter Petrelli pull his pants up in an emergency?

Expect it or not I'm jumping on that bandwagon with you because excuse me but from what I've seen of most rp on twitter** "It's a different verse." usually translates into this is my excuse for being a twitter whore and I'm sorry but whoring around is still whoring around no matter what label you put on it. Like you all my characters are completely faithful to their committed relationship. I'm not a whore ooc and my muses are not whores either. I don't have a problem rp'ing sex at the appropriate moments but it has to fit the story, the relationship and be played at the appropriate moment but rp that includes sexual situations should be 90% story and relationship building and only 10% fucking if even that much, not the other way around. Just putting in my two cents on the subject.

I also think a lot of these "role players" don't know the meaning of the term. They think putting on a pretty mask makes them Smexy, and they are out there jerking off in all their pretendy time smut.

They don't get the point of RP at all.

Believe me, I know where you're coming from. Not from quite the same viewpoint, but still, the same result.

Hiro's not a popular fuck character which means a lot of people get bored with him because they don't want him as a potential bedmate. So, they drop any kind of RP because they don't want to bump uglies. It's frustrating because just as we finally get involved in something interesting they step off the train because it's not getting their character sleeping with someone.

Sex is not why I RP. I like trying out different universes and different viewpoints. I guess I'm just a boring person.

Yeah I don't get people at all. The people who would come onto my CHARACTER on twitter really worried me. Apparently being pretty makes up for being a sociopath. I don't get it.

And I'm so glad we're RPing together on Redux. You're more than welcome to join any of my other games too. We've never had a good Hiro. I know you were on Shades when it was new, but the old group - who were hump bunnies - is all gone now.

Oh, I've noticed that with a lot of people. They all just think Zack is a good-looking guy, so, no matter what Sylar does, they still love him. It's really wierd. But then I guess I'm considered the weirdo cause I can separate the actor from the character. I think Zack is a great actor, but I hated Sylar and I didn't have any problem with his playing Spock in ST (especially with the eerie resemblance between him and Nimoy).

Always glad to play with people who want to actually do something with an RP. I've written most of my life and played various RPGs since my teens (let's talk 1976). The story/interaction/characters have always been the more important things to me.

You've been RPing longer than I have! That doesn't happen often. I started with AD&D. LOL

I made Zach's resemblance to Leonard a point in my Fringe Xover the other day too.

rp_shadesofgray is the primary one. masquerademix started out as an attempt at a Vampire the Masquerade based game, but now it's pretty much fangy crack verses full of Heroes characters putting the bite on each other.

I dropped Hiro out of a bunch of RPs, so I think I'll hold off on adding him to any for a bit. Right now things are a bit in the air with the holidays.
