The thing was an abomination, an aberration, an affront to all that I had become. It mocked my power. It mocked me. It consorted with puppets and more than likely slept with a tin foil hat to prevent alien anal probes, or perhaps to encourage them? It needed to be put down. Ripped apart by hands, teeth and claws until it’s nothing but hamburger. It wears my face. I can’t wait to tear it off and feed it to him.
My hands are shaking as I send for Gabriel. I want my brother’s help with this hunt. The two of us, running like wolves to bring down the short bus version of us. The thought of it makes my blood sing, and the hunger purrs knowing that I’m going to let it out very soon.
“Gabriel, brother, it’s time for us to hunt.” I port to the shop. I know that Gabriel will be there. It’s our haven, where we go when one of us is hurt or pissed off. I know he wants to kill as much as I do. The thought of dipping my fingers into the Short Bus Sylar’s brain has me smiling as I appear.

Date: 2009-09-09 05:30 am (UTC)From:I get the short version of what sort of creature is on the menu, frowning. It hardly seems like a worthy kill, such a pathetic little thing, but Sylar is right. It needs to be put down and who better to grant it what it so rightfully deserves? I'll gladly hunt anyone who offends my brother in this way, who offends me as well.
"Where does it hide, do you know?"

Date: 2009-09-09 06:11 am (UTC)From:"I didn't kill her," I say when he gives me the look. "I have Peter's ability, and I don't kill children."
I grab a push pin out of the corner of a poster and settle onto his stool. Sitting at the workbench is always a strange mixture of comfort and the sense that I'm intruding now that we share this place. The overlapping realities that gave me this perfect sibling is also the reason the abomination exists.
Concentrating I think about the Short Bus Sylar and open the book of maps. It's confusing at first since there are two of us in this room, but I've always been able to use people's abilities better than they could. I focus on outside of the shop, and then I can see him.
"There you are." I smile as I shove the pin into the map.

Date: 2009-09-09 06:41 am (UTC)From:"New Jersey, really? Of all the places in the world to hide, I should think that would be the least desireable." A shiver runs down my spine, we're really going to do this. We know where he is and he doesn't know that we're coming for him. I wonder what powers he has, I wonder if he's going to be any challenge what so ever. It's anticipation of a kill, wanting to go for the throat, snarling.
It's new for me. I've never experienced anything like it and I love it.
"Let's get him, brother."

"I don't know where the fine line is between hunting with me and murder. I won't force you either way. It's up to you to come, and it'll be up to you if you help me kill him or not."

Date: 2009-09-09 07:47 am (UTC)From:The beast is alive inside me, feeding off the things I pick up from him, feeding off the anticipation. I couldn't stop that if I wanted to and it's obvious that today I don't even want to try. I want to see what he sees, feel the things he does. But most of all...
"I want to make him pay for what he's done. I want to help. It's not as if I'm afraid of a little blood." Or a lot. I hope for a lot, it's strange how that has changed so completely for me. I used to be ready to faint at the sight and now... I crave it.

Date: 2009-09-09 05:36 pm (UTC)From:"I can see the house in my mind where he lives. We can port there, and get started." I hand the atlas to Gabriel. "We might need that. Do you have a bag to carry it in? If we had more time I'd memorize it."
When he's ready I touch his shoulder and pop us into the house. It's small, the floor is covered in old newspapers, empty cat food cans, and cats. There are lots and lots of cats. It stinks of overflowing litter boxes and old blood.
I pick up the mail by the door, always my first move when I go into a house. "He's got a girlfriend or victim. Her name is Mel, and she subscribes to six different poetry magazines. Sylar shacked up with a poet. Makes me want to barf."

Date: 2009-09-09 06:11 pm (UTC)From:Makes my eyes sting to stand here, so I move quickly over to my brother.
"I don't think there's anything here other than a lot of cats. And I need fresh air if we're going to search further for the bastard." I open the door just enough to let some air in and let some cats out. Seems a fair exchange to me. "What kind of a demented creature is he? This seems even worse than what you told me, he's truly mental to be living in this shithole." Literally.

Date: 2009-09-09 06:34 pm (UTC)From:It's small and cluttered. There are stuffed Muppets on the bed, Kermit the Frog and Elmo. The Muppets are posed like Elmo is giving Kermit head. "Nice."
In the laundry pile I find at least a dozen t-shirts from 6 Flags Great Adventure. When I touch the shit on the top of the pile and read the past, I can see them on a roller coaster.
"I know where they are."

Date: 2009-09-09 07:19 pm (UTC)From:It means that there might be a challenge, places like that are always crowded, though there is a possibility of hiding away in unexpected places, behind the scenes of some of the least popular rides. I wonder if there's a fun house filled with mirrors there, it would be such a suitable place to kill an imposter. But the scenery doesn't matter. It'll be fun, no matter what.
"Always wanted to go there." Him and his obviously psycho girlfriend are hunted and they don't even know it.

Date: 2009-09-09 08:05 pm (UTC)From:We make our way out, into the blessed fresh air. I leave the door open and take a few moments to break all the windows too. "Might as well set the cats free. I'd burn the place, but I don't want to hurt them."
Great Adventure wasn't hard to find. I flew us over the walls invisibly, and set us down behind one of the more popular rides. "If there were less people, I'd try to listen for his voice."

Date: 2009-09-09 08:41 pm (UTC)From:"Oh, look. There's a map over the park over there, brother. Perhaps you can try you tracking skills on that?" I'm eager to find them and eager to get started, the Hunger flaring at the thought. Never mind that it'll be the first time for me, I'm sure I'll be far better at it than the warped mirror image of us could ever hope to be.

Date: 2009-09-09 09:15 pm (UTC)From:Calling on Molly's gift, I traced my finger over the map, knowing that Gabriel would watch my back. I could feel the excitement growing in him, and it was getting harder to distinguish between his need to kill and mine.
"This is going to be so much fun. I can't wait to rip his brain out and play volley ball with it."

Date: 2009-09-10 01:06 am (UTC)From:I head towards it, knowing that my brother wouldn't be far behind. A few drops of rain hit me, the sky is beginning to darken. It's very appropriate, very right for the occasion. Up ahead, people are screaming, not because of a murder spree, but because they've volunteered and even paid to be frightened.
"Do you feel him yet?" I think I can almost sense him, an annoying gnat of a buzz in my ear. It's making my head ache. God, how annoying.
It's not long before I think that I catch a little glimpse of him as well, up ahead.

Date: 2009-09-10 07:51 pm (UTC)From:"I can hear him." I tilt my head, the rain spattering down on us. I wish for a moment that I could still control the weather. A downpour would clear out the park, let collateral damage. Sometimes it surprises me that I care about that. I've changed so much. "They're on the ride. They're giggling like idiots."

Date: 2009-09-11 02:48 am (UTC)From:"Sneak up behind them, rip them into a dark corner and have at it?" Like wolves, tearing them asunder. It excites me, makes the Hunger rise. I can feel him through the connection we share as well, there's a loop of the urge to kill inside both of us. Especially now when the prey is so very close. "I'd love that."
People are moving past us, it's really starting to pour down. I don't mind getting wet, not really. "Grab and port them somewhere safe?"

Date: 2009-09-11 06:51 am (UTC)From:"I also like the idea of ripping him to shreds here so they find him." I tilt my head back and look at the ride. "I could fly us up there, and we could kill him on the ride while it's going. Death at however many miles an hour."

Date: 2009-09-11 09:54 am (UTC)From:I step close to him, wrapping my arms around him, trying to not feel like fucking Lois Lane. He's so far from Superman, there's no boring moral issues, no goody two shoes attitude. And thank God for that. "Up and away, big brother."

Date: 2009-09-13 02:27 am (UTC)From:As we get closer I can feel the chaos of the other's broken mind. He is so very wrong. There is so much chaos that I don't know how he can chew gum and walk. I feel like we're going to after Bizarro. Maybe we are.
"There." I see them in the car of the roller coaster. There are three other couples riding behind them. As we land in the empty seat at the back of the car, I reach forward and start teleporting the innocent out of the way. "No witnesses."

Date: 2009-09-13 12:24 pm (UTC)From:I glance over at my brother. Two of them, two of us. We didn't discuss a plan, but it's an unspoken agreement that he gets to take out the other Sylar. Which means that the girlfriend is all mine. She could, of course, be teleported away, but what's the fun in that?
I'm waiting on his move.

Date: 2009-09-14 08:58 pm (UTC)From:My hair is whipping into my eyes from the wind, and I'm so excited that I'm vibrating. I can't believe the Short Bus Sylar hasn't noticed us there right behind him. He looks worse than I did at Primatech. He's unwashed and unkempt. I don't know how the other passengers could stand the stink of him.
I glance over at Gabriel. I can see the need for violence making his eyes harden and hungry. Who better to sharpen his fangs on than this thing? This freak from a timeline that should have been erased? I nod to him to let him know that the girl is his and his alone. I wonder if she has an ability, but I'm not sure we have time to find out. Part of me wants to check. It'd be a shame to miss a new toy, but would a thing like her have an ability either of us would want.
"I love you Elmo," Short Bus says leaning over to give her a kiss.
"I love you Kermit," she answers.
I throw up in my mouth and brain.

Date: 2009-09-15 01:57 pm (UTC)From:I tilt my head, holding up my hand. I can hear the thrum of power rush through my veins, but this is going to be simple and quick. An appetizer before the real violence. They're still kissing, the warped mirror image of us groping her through her dress. I concentrate and twist my hand just so, crushing her brains like an overripe fruit inside her skull, making her fall limply against him like an oversized Muppet.
God, it feels so good, better than anything else ever has.

Date: 2009-09-16 02:52 am (UTC)From:The other leaned over, catching her as her body went limp. His screams echoed through the park, off the thick rain clouds overhead. His insanity was grating at my tenuous sanity, threatening to drag me back into chaos.
I wanted to play with him though. I wanted to make him pay for thinking he was good enough to be Sylar. He was a mockery.
"Oh we're so sorry, aren't we Gabriel?" I grin over at my brother. "Did we break your toy?"
"You!" How glib. Spittle flew from his mouth as he turned to stand in the car. He raised his hand to try to use his power on me. I didn't try to stop him. I let him get wrap his telekinesis around me.
Then I laughed when his head was sheered off by a low girder on the ride. Blood sprayed in a torrent as his body toppled out of the car.
"Fucking priceless!"
